Whale Sushi
Anti-whaling protester Pete Bethune brazenly boarded a Japanese whaling vessel under the cover of darkness and attempted to perform a citizen's arrest on the skipper, but instead found himself detained and held prisoner on return journey back to Japan. Mr Bethune then awaited trial for many months facing a raft of charges including assault and trespassing with a possible prison sentence of up to 15 years. Pete Bethune received a suspended prison sentence and was expelled from the Sea Shepherd anti-whaling group.
