Global Breakthrough Festival Announced
There's a new festival on the horizon - and it comes with a twist...
Global Breakthrough Festival in Mount Maunganui already boasts a line-up that includes Kora, Opensouls, Sola Rosa, Ben Merito, Regan, Porina and lots more to be announced, but the organisers have something fairly special in mind for the proceeds.
From the promoters:
"This is the Global Breakthrough Festival, a festival for the people and by the people. The main event will take place on Saturday 19 February staged at Baypark Stadium with 10 000 like-minded souls in attendance celebrating their passion for music, the arts and the Bay community.
100% of all ticket sales is being donated to Tauranga Women's Refuge Charitable Trust.
And if over 3000 people join the festival's Facebook fan page by 1 December, we will release the first 3000 tickets at just $10, making it truly affordable to the widest community. That's our promise to you for supporting us."
There are also due to be "pay it forward" options, where punters can choose to pay more for their tickets - thus donating more to the cause.
